The Global Training Foundation provides online skills training to individuals who are unemployed, transitioning or disabled veterans, disadvantaged individuals (including those with language barriers and socio-economic challenges) along with very low skilled workers (working poor) who are not provided training on the job.

How we do it…

The GTF has two online learning centers.  One is for our blended learning series designed to provide skills to individuals who, for whatever reason, are unable to work outside the home.  The other is a learning management system (LMS) that contains over 300 online courses that are designed to provide knowledge, skills and abilities in a wide variety of subjects. These courses are the same type and quality routinely provided to employees by organizations, if they provide training and development.

Programs…

Most of our programs last about a year, and are designed to help an individual get to his or her personal "next level" no matter what that may entail.  We typically do a resume review and help with a rewrite, coordinate a job search and provide counseling and encouragement.  We also do an objective skills analysis to determine if career goals are obtainable, and set our participants on the path to achieving their objectives.  This includes a custom learning plan, set up in our LMS that will result in a transcript which the learner can present, along with a resume, to a prospective employer.

Requirements…

The learner must have access to a computer with Internet, and an email address. GTF may be able to find or provide resources if necessary.  

Enrichment…

Once enrolled in a required learning plan, the learner will also have unlimited access to all the online courses in the system. The program provides structured learning to help individuals achieve training objectives that will have a direct bearing on their ability to contribute to their economic wellbeing, along with the opportunity to learn as much as they like in a wide variety of subjects.
